You may find yourself in the situation where you need to add a variant to one of your product.
In the following guide, we will show you how to add a variant in two cases:
Adding a new variant from the same supplier you are using currently
Adding a new variant from another supplier
Open your product on Shopify by clicking on the Open in Shopify button at the bottom of the Product Card
Your Shopify product page will open in a new tab, go down the page a bit until you reach the Variants section and click on Add Variant
A new page will open.
You just need to enter the name of the new variant you want to add (1) And then don't forget to Save (2)
You will see that new variant appear on the list of variant for this product
You may need to add a SKU to the created product. In that case, you can use a random SKU.
Now go back to DSers and click on the Mapping Page of the product card
You can see the newly added variant appears in the product but is empty.
You can map the newly added variant like any other product by clicking on the empty box and selecting the corresponding variant from your supplier.
Don’t forget to Save when you are done!
In case your current supplier doesn’t sell the newly added variant, you can import another supplier that sells it.
Go to AliExpress and copy the URL of a product with the variant you newly added.
Paste the URL in the Import box and click on Import.
The new supplier will appear in the Alternate Products column, click on Set.
Select Second option and click OK.
The new supplier product’s variants will appear next to your current supplier, but are empty.
You need to map the Attribute and the newly added variant.
Make sure you map all the other attributes’ variants too.
With this mapping, the second supplier will only be used to sell the Red color variant you just added.
Don’t forget to Save!
Now you understand how to add a new variant for your current products.
Utilize it to offer more variety of the same product to your customers.
