Quick fixes for upgrade failures, expired subscriptions, duplicate charges, and billing discrepancies
Note
Subscription issues can be frustrating, especially when they interrupt your dropshipping workflow. Most errors are not system glitches—they are usually caused by payment confirmation steps or billing cycle rules.Click here to start dropshipping now with DSers
This guide covers the four most common subscription problems on DSers and provides straightforward solutions to get you back on track quickly.
1. Subscription Not Activated After Choosing a Paid Plan
The Issue:
You selected a paid plan, but your DSers account still shows as "Free."
Why It Happens:
The subscription process requires two steps: authorizing the payment on your chosen Billing method (Shopify, Wix, PayPal, or Stripe), and then returning to DSers to click Update to sync the status.
Missing either step means the subscription will not be activated.
Quick Fix:
If your plan still shows as "Free," first check whether the subscription is active on your bIlling platform.
- If it is not active there, restart the subscription process from DSers.
- If it is active there but DSers hasn't updated, contact our live chat support with your account email, store domain and issue screenshots- they will check it for you.

2. Subscription Expired (Payment Failed)
The Issue:
Your DSers plan shows as "Expired" or "Cancelled," and automation features like Automatic Price/Stock Update have stopped working.
Why It Happens:
The recurring charge was declined—either your store's default payment method is invalid (Shopify/Wix) or your PayPal/card issuer blocked the transaction.
How to Fix It:
- Shopify/Wix:
Update your billing method in your store admin panel, then restart the subscription in DSers.
For Shopify, you can switch to an active store if you have multiple stores.
For Wix, simply reactivate the existing billing store. - PayPal/Stripe: Verify your payment method is active, then retry in DSers > Settings > Billing. If it still fails, try a different PayPal account or credit card.

3. Duplicate Charges (Double Billing)
The Issue:
You were charged twice for the same DSers plan and see two identical invoices.
Why It Happens:
Duplicate charges are rare and usually caused by network latency during the payment gateway redirect, leading the system to process the confirmation request twice.
How to Fix It:
- Gather your DSers account email, store name, and both invoice numbers.
- Contact DSers Customer Support via live chat or email with these details. Our team will verify the duplicate transaction and handle it for you.

4. Payment Amount When Changing Plans
The Issue:
When upgrading or downgrading, the amount charged seems different from what you expected—either you paid only a small difference or the full plan price.
Why It Happens & How to Fix It:
If you subscribed via Shopify:
Shopify calculates prorated (pro-rata) charges automatically.
- Upgrade: You pay the difference for the remaining days of your current cycle.
- Downgrade: the difference is applied as credit toward your next Shopify invoice.
If you subscribed via Wix, PayPal, or Stripe:
A new billing cycle starts immediately.
- Upgrade or Downgrade: You are charged the full price of the new plan. No partial refund is given for unused days.
Tip: To maximize value, we recommend change plan within the last few days of your current billing cycle.
