Shipping Settings: How to Set Your Default Shipping Method

A quick guide to automating shipping method selection and protecting your profit margins

Without proper shipping settings, you'll waste time manually picking methods for every order—and DSers include add shipping cost in your product costs, putting your profit margins at risk.

Set up your Shipping Settings once, and DSers handles both: automatic method selection and accurate costs that include shipping. This article walks you through exactly how.

Prerequisites：To check what your supplier offers

Before you start, review the shipping methods your supplier offers. This helps you choose the right settings in the next steps.

• Import List -Product Card - Shipping Info.
• Look for the shipping information—use the SKU switch and country search to view available Shipping methods for each product.
• You can check the shipping cost and shipping time

How to Set Up Your Shipping Settings

You'll find both options in Settings - Shipping Settings - Add Global shipping method based on Condition.

Both options support country-specific settings — choose the one that fits your workflow.

Basic Shipping Method

1. Select the Country — choose Global or a specific country.

Priority: Country-specific rules override Global. For the same country, top rule takes precedence.

2. Select a shipping method

• which your supplier support from the dropdown.
• You can add more than one shipping method for the same country.

3. Click Save

DSers applies methods from top to bottom. If the first method isn't supported by the supplier, it automatically moves to the next.

Reference data:
For popular shipping methods, you'll see average shipping time and cost based on your account's order history over the past 3 months.
If you haven't used a method before, the value will show as -.

Advanced Shipping Method

1. Click the Advanced toggle to switch to Advanced mode.
2. Select the ship to country.
3. Click the triangle icon next to the country to expand the settings.
4. Configure your preferences:

Example: How Advanced Shipping Method Works

Suppose you're shipping to the U.S. with these preferences:

• Tracking information available: Yes
• Delivery period: 40 days
• Shipping cost: $20
• Selection priority: Fastest delivery

What Happens Next

Here's how the three benefits above play out in this example:

• Automatic selection Shipping method for order: DSers selects ePacket for U.S. orders from this supplier product.
• Accurate costs: DSers pushes $5.00 (ePacket's fee) with product cost to Shopify's Cost per item when you enable "Send product and shipping cost to Store".
• Confident pricing: With Total cost selected in Basic pricing, DSers adds the $5.00 (ePacket's fee)  shipping cost before applying your pricing rule — protecting your margin.
