What is Auto-Place and how does it work with Alibaba?

What is Auto-Place?
Auto-Place is one of DSers' core automation features. When enabled, it automatically submits orders from your store to your suppliers on Alibaba as they sync into DSers, eliminating the need for manual order placement.

Auto-Place settings are located in Settings > Order Settings > Automatically place orders to supplier within your DSers dashboard.

How does it work?
For Auto-Place to work, three conditions must be met:
Product is mapped to the correct Alibaba variant.
Supplier is available and ships to the destination.
A shipping method is selected based on your preset rules.
If all three are met, the order is placed automatically. If not, the order stays in "Awaiting Order" for you to review.
Important note: Auto-Place submits the order to Alibaba, but you still need to pay for it manually on Alibaba. Orders will move to "Awaiting Payment" for you to review and complete payment.

Auto-Place automatically submits orders from your store to suppliers on Alibaba as they sync into DSers, eliminating manual order placement. Use it to save time and speed up fulfillment when you have consistent order volume from Alibaba suppliers.
Make sure each product is correctly mapped to the right Alibaba variant, the supplier ships to your customer's destination, and you've preset a shipping method in Settings > Shipping Settings. Also confirm you have sufficient budget to pay for orders on Alibaba—Auto-Place submits orders but does not make payments for you.
The order moves to "Awaiting Payment" status. You'll need to log in to Alibaba and complete the payment manually. Once paid, the supplier processes and ships the order, and tracking information syncs back to DSers when available.
If any condition isn't met—mapping missing, supplier unavailable, or no shipping method selected—the order stays in "Awaiting Order" for manual review. Check the order details, fix the issue, and place it manually.
Yes. Beyond Alibaba, DSers supports Auto-Place for AliExpress and Agent orders. For AliExpress, the Auto-Place option is only visible if you have previously enabled it for AliExpress orders.
No. Auto-Place submits the order to your supplier but does not complete payment. You still need to review and pay for each order manually on Alibaba. This allows you to check order accuracy and manage cash flow before funds are released.
