Add a variant to a product

You may find yourself in the situation where you need to add a variant to one of your product.

There is simple way for you to do this, please read the following guide:

Let's take two cases:

Adding a new variant from the same supplier you are using currently

Adding a new variant from another supplier

Adding variant from the same supplier

If you go to My Product page, find your Product Card and click on Mapping Page

You can see that you currently have 3 variants (SKU) for this product

But your supplier has added a new variant on AliExpress

Open your product on Shopify by clicking on the Open in Shopify button at the bottom of the Product Card

Your Shopify product page will open in a new tab, go down the page a bit until you reach the Variants section (under the Description and Images) and click on Add Variant

A new page will open.

You just need to enter the name of the new variant you want to add (1) And then don't forget to Save (2)

📕 NOTE: You can add picture for this new variant directly on this page as well

You will see that new variant appear on the list of variant for this product

You may need to add a SKU to the created product. In that case, you can use a random SKU.

Now go back to DSers and click on the Mapping Page of the product card

You can see the newly added variant appears but it needs to be mapped

Just map it like any other product by clicking on the empty box and selecting the corresponding variant from your supplier

Once you selected the new variant, you just need to Save, and you''re done!

Adding variant from another supplier

You may want to add a new variant from another supplier, because your main supplier doesn't propose it by example.

Follow the same instruction as before and add the new variant on Shopify

You just need to enter the name of the new variant you want to add (1)

And then don't forget to Save (2)

On the Mapping page of the product on DSers, you will see that new variant appear

You now need to import the supplier which sells this variant. Just Paste the AliExpress link of the product in the Import box on the Alternate product column and click on Import

The new supplier will appear under the default one on the Alternate Products column

Click on Set

A window will ask you what you want this new supplier to be.

In this case, we'll set the new supplier as a Second Option

The additional supplier will appear in the Substitute Ali Product column

You now just need to map the product with the corresponding variant from this supplier.

Don't forget to select the variant category (in this case "Color")

Once you selected the new variant, you just need to Save, and you're done!
