Split products by option/variant

The Split Product feature allows you to split products by option or variant as well as custom split. For example, when there are multiple variants of a product and you want to sell only some of them or sell some of its variants as a stand-alone item, you can split variants quickly using the DSers Split feature in Import List.

How to split products

Method 1: Split by variant

It is possible that you are selling in a boutique and don’t need too many variants (variations). You can split a product by variant to create a product with fewer variants.

Login to DSers > Import List.
Click on the Product Card of the product that you want to split.
In the Pop-up, click Split by variant.
Choose the option value you want under one option.

If you don't want to publish the images of unselected variant to your store for your product that split from the original one, you can deselect the Keep unselected Variant images box.

Click CONFIRM.
In the Pop-up, click CONFIRM.

For products with one option, the new product contains the variants you select; for those with two options, the new product contains your selected variants (variations) of one option combined with all variants of another option.

For example, the original product has 2 options: Color (Red, Blue) and Size (X, M, L). Its variants are Red/X, Blue/X, Red/M, Blue/M, Red/L and Blue/L. If you split by Size and select X and M, you will get 1 new product with these variants: Red/X, Blue/X, Red/M, and Blue/M.

Method 2: Split by option

You can split your product by option (Options are categories of your product variants, such as color, size and material). This feature can be very helpful when you want to promote one product with hot variants.

Login to DSers > Import List.
Click on the Product Card of the product that you want to split.
In the Pop-up, click Split by option.
Select the option for which you want to split the variants and click CONFIRM.
In the Pop-up, click CONFIRM.

The product will be split into multiple new product variants that are identical to the value counts of your selected option.

For example, for the same original product mentioned in Method 1, if you split by Size, you will get 3 new products as follows: Product 1: Red/X, Blue/X Product 2: Red/M, Blue/M Product 3: Red/L, Blue/L

Method 3: Custom Split

This method allows you to combine different option values into multiple variants and each variant will be created a new product.

Login to DSers> Import List.
Click on the Product Card of the product that you want to split.
In the Pop-up, click Custom Split.
Under each Option, select the option value you desire and click .
In the Pop-up, click .

For example, for the same original product mentioned in Method 1, if you choose X and M under Size and choose Red and Blue under Color, you will get 4 new products as follows: Product 1: Red/X Product 2: Blue/X Product 3: Red/M Product 4: Blue/M

Based on your selling needs, you can choose one of these methods to split products before you push them to your store. The original product will remain unchanged when you split by variant(s), allowing you to split again when necessary.
