Set your pricing rules
Setting the price for the products you sell in your stores manually can be a huge hassle when you are managing multiple products. DSers Pricing Rule feature allows you to customize the pricing template (including 3 types: Basic, Standard and Advanced) for each store and apply it to products automatically when they are pushed products to stores.
For example, you set a pricing rule for your clothing store. If you have a shirt and its total cost is $10 and you want to push it to the clothing store, DSers will automatically add a markup of $10 to the shirt based on the pricing formula you set for the store and display the result of $20 as the product selling price in the store.
Pricing Rule includes two parts, you can check below to learn how you can take advantage of them to customize your pricing rules.
-
Pricing rules can be applied to products when you push products to your store after they have been set up. If you want to update the pricing rule applied to pushed products, please manually change store products price.
Part 1: Set Pricing Templates
In this part, you can set the currency exchange rates that will be used for product selling price calculation and choose what kind of price markup you want to apply to the products.- Login to DSers > Settings > Sales channel Setting > Pricing & Currencies.
- In the Pricing Templates part, Store Currency determines in which currency your product costs and prices are displayed in DSers and it is set to USD by default. If your store currency is USD, you cannot change it; If your store's currency is any currency other than USD, you can click on the Currency selector and select your store currency in the Dropdown list.
- (Optional) For Currency Exchange Rate, you can turn on to apply currency exchange rates to pricing rules automatically when you push products to your store. By default, the first option is selected, which is the real-time currency rates from the third-party exchange rate interface. If you want to set a fixed currency exchange rate, you can switch to the second option and enter your wanted value in the Input box.
- Pricing Rule is off by default, you need to turn on in the same line to activate it for the store you want to apply the pricing rule to.
- Once you turn on Pricing Rule, Basic pricing rule is selected by default. You can keep this option or click in front of the other two pricing template types and create your own pricing formula. There are 3 types you can select from, each type described as below:
- (Optional) To use the current pricing rule for other stores, click Use for other stores. In the Pop-up, click in front of stores to select them and click .
- Click SAVE.

This is not a must-have feature when applying the Pricing Template. When you use it, it helps with the automation of currency rate conversion. If you don’t use this feature, then please consider the currency exchange rate when you set the pricing formula.
Pricing Template type | When to use it |
---|---|
Basic pricing rule |
It allows you to use a fixed number to add or multiply by your product cost. If you are selling products with low variability in cost in a niche store, you can make use of this template.
For example, if your product cost is $5 and you set a pricing formula that will add $5 to the product cost, then the product price will be calculated as $10.
1. Ensure your fixed markup covers all extra costs (processing fees, tax, etc.), currency rate (if the Currency Exchange Rates feature is off), and desired profit margin. |
Standard pricing rule | If you sell in a grocery store with varied product categories and cost ranges, this template is ideal for you. With this template, you can set a fixed number to be added or multiplied to tiered product costs. Assume you have two products. One product cost is $5 and the other one is $15. If you set a pricing formula that will add $5 to the product cost range of $0-$10 and $10 to the product cost range of $10.01-$20, then the first product price will be calculated as $10 and the second will be $25. |
Advanced pricing rule | After upgrading to at least an Advanced plan, you can activate it. This allows you to set a comprehensive pricing formula that takes shipping fees and other operating costs into consideration. DSers has provided 2 pricing formulas for different scenarios and you just need to fill in fields that correspond to each formula component with the values you desire to make it proper for your pricing strategies. To learn the pricing formula details, please check this article. |
Part 2: Set Assign cents
You can set a specific cent value for the product retail price. DSers will use this value when forming the final price for your items. For example, a product’s price is $10.43 after the pricing rule is applied. Then, DSers will automatically change it to $10.99 if you set the cent value as 99. Here are the detailed steps.- Login to DSers > Settings > Sales channel Setting > Pricing & Currencies.
- In the Assign cents part, determine the cent value for your product price:
- Price: Select Assign cents checkbox and enter the cent value you desire in the Input box.
- Compared at price: Select Assign compared at cents checkbox and enter the cent value you desire.
- Click SAVE.
Step 1. Apply the Pricing Template based on the product cost and then convert the product price currency (if you have activated the Currency Exchange Rate) of products that will be pushed to your store
Step 2. Apply the Assign Cent to the result of Step 1
